Add a Single Order

Last Updated: Mar 23, 2017 01:13PM EDT
When you have a last minute Order it is easier to do this inside of WorkWave Route Manager, rather than upload a whole new Excel spreadsheet

1. Click the drop-down on the "Add Orders" button.

2. Click on “Add a single Order”.

3. You’ll see a new window named “Edit Order”.

4. Select whether this is a Pickup, Dropoff, Service, or Pickup & Dropoff.

5. From here, you’ll need to define the characteristics of the Order. Use as many or as few of these as you need to fit your business.

Your Order Name
What you’ll call this Order. It can be a store name, a person, a call number, or anything else that will help you, your Driver or your office.
The day this Order has to be served on or by. You can set a specific day or a deadline for the system to route the Order. Select “any” to leave it open for the best possible day.
The cargo, freight, product, or people that are picked up or dropped off at each location. You can define up to five different Load Capacities and give them the names you’ll use. Just include the amount that will be worked within each Order.

Examples include (but any Load unit can be specified):
  • Goods
  • Patients
  • Pallets
  • Weight
  • Stops
Please see What is Capacity? for more information.
You can assign a specific Vehicle that is required to visit this Order.
By assigning Importance to an Order you let Route Manager know what you need to be served, or if some Orders need to be left off of the route plan due to lack of resources or constraints. The values used are:
  • Lowest
  • Lower
  • Normal
  • Higher
  • Highest
The address or latitude, longitude of the Order. You will want to include the Street Address, City, State, Country, and Zip/Postal Code for the best results. Otherwise, you can also pick a spot on the map with our Advanced Geocoding map.

For more information, visit: How can I improve the Geocoding Process?
The time your Driver will spend at the address. This can be expressed in HH:MM format. One hour would be 01:00. 30 minutes would be 00:30.
Tell the route planner the earliest and latest times your Driver can arrive at the Order. Service is eligible to start anytime in those windows. You can define up to two separate Time Windows, and three separate Time Window Alternatives/Exceptions.
If your Orders require special equipment, experience or abilities to serve them, you can tell Route Manager. Route Manager will only let Vehicles that possess those skills go to the Order.

Please see the Create a Vehicle article for information on creating Tags.
The opposite of a Required Tag. If you need to tell Route Manager NOT to send a Vehicle to a location you can identify that characteristic here.

Please see the Create a Vehicle article for information on creating Tags.
Extra information you want to give your Driver. This will be included in the Driver’s instructions but not used to decide where an Order will be placed on the route.

Links can also be attached to notes for the Drivers to open in their mobile web browser.
Like notes, these fields are used to give extra information to your Drivers without affecting the route. They can be anything you’d like. Some examples are:
  • Phone Number
  • Freight Bill
  • Gate Code
  • $ Owed
  • Call Ahead (Y/N)

6. Click "Ok", then click "Apply Now" to save your changes.
