How do I schedule for Weekends and Holidays? (Exceptions)

Last Updated: Nov 22, 2016 05:42PM CET
You can tell WorkWave Route Manager what days will be different in your Vehicle’s schedule well ahead of time. For instance, when you need to schedule weekends, days off, or holidays. Route Manager calls this an “Exception”, as it is an Exception to the rules of your “Normal Day” operations.

You’ll need to edit your Vehicles.

1. Click the Settings gear.

2. Click “Vehicles”.

3. Select one of your Vehicles and click “Edit Selected”.

4. In the “Edit Vehicle” window click “Add Exception”.

5. A new box will open and give you two options to pick from:

A single or recurring day on the calendar you need a different schedule. Click the down arrow to see your options.

  • Date - A specific, non-recurring schedule Exception.
    • Example: A special day off
    • Example: 10/09/2015
  • Annual - A specific date every year where there is an Exception.
    • Example: A birthday
    • Example: Every year on October 10th the Vehicle has the day off
  • Monthly - A specific date of the month where there is an Exception.
    • Example: A recurring appointment
    • Example: The 9th of every month
  • Weekly - A specific day every week where there is an Exception.
    • Example: Weekends off
    • Example: Every Saturday and every Sunday
The day of the Exception

6. Select the type of Exception you want to make. In this example, we’ll use a Weekly Exception.

7. Click the “Day” field. Type in the day code for the day Exception you need to create.

If you’re creating another type of Exception, click the green calendar button to select a specific date.

8. Click “Create”. A new Exception will be in the left panel. Click it to begin editing its settings.

9. You can change any settings you need for the day, but if you’re just taking this Vehicle off, uncheck the “Is available” box, and set the Start/End Depots to "(none)" to clear it, and take the Vehicle off of the day.

Repeat as needed to give off or change settings for other days.

10. Click "Apply Now" to save your changes.
