May 25, 2016: GPS Tracking via Smartphone, Max Mileage, Voicenotes, APIs, Simplified Order Import

Last Updated: Jul 08, 2016 01:42PM EDT
I wanted to drop a line to share some recent updates available in WorkWave™Route Manager’s web and mobile applications. As an added bonus, you’ll notice we’ve added a section to the bottom of our Product News emails - "Did You Know?", giving you insight into Route Manager's features and tricks.
Web application updates:
  • GPS tracking via smartphone: Uncover another layer of visibility by adding GPS tracking to your drivers' smartphones. Learn more about GPS tracking here today!
  • Max mileage settings: Never violate the maximum mileage set for your vehicles when you set constraints in "Vehicle Settings". This feature is helpful to businesses using electric cars or less fuel efficient vehicles, where limiting mileage is required.
  • Geocoding accuracy validation: Receive alerts for geocoding quality and make adjustments as needed with the new feature added to your order grid – "Address Check". Please note: a warning will display for orders with lower geocoding accuracy within the Plan Summary (to the left of orders). By clicking on the link, the orders with lower geocoding accuracy (indicated in yellow) will be brought to the top of the list in the order grid for easier identification.
Mobile app updates:
  • New Proof of Delivery option - Voice Notes: Drivers can now attach recorded audio files to orders and sync proof of delivery back to the office. View image to see more.
  • Documented API for Max Mileage (maxDistanceMt constraint).
  • Documented new "acceptBadGeocodes" property. When importing orders via API, "unrecognized/uncertain" addresses will not be rejected anymore, but brought into Route Manager so they can be manually adjusted. They will show in the "Address Check" column.
  • Documented new GPS Tracking API: Allows for retrieval of GPS tracking data, such as: current and historical planned data, driving direction, speed, etc.
Coming soon:
  • Simplified Order Import Wizard: An easier way to mapping your columns. Please note: If your Excel files haven’t changed this won’t affect you. This will only affect new fields added to your import file.
Did You Know?:

You can visually compare the actual GPS position of execution events vs. the reported. Learn how.
