Why Can't I Import My Excel File?

There may be times that an attempt is made to Import an Excel and it won't upload properly, or an error message is received.
 

 
If the below is seen on the computer screen, this means that something is wrong with the file being Imported - most likely there is embedded information hidden in the cells. This information needs to removed prior to attempting Import again.
 

 
When using Excel there are a few simple steps that can be followed to correct this issue. 

1) In the Excel file, click on "File".
 

 
2) Click on "Export.
 

 
3) Click on "Change File Type".
 

 
4) Under "Other File Types", choose "CSV (Comma delimited)".
 
5) Save the new file as you normally would.

Completing these steps removes the embedded information, and cleans up the file, making it ready for import into Route Manager!


Note: Remember, each import is limited to 2000 lines. This includes the headings. If your import has more than 2000 lines, you will need to split the import and bring both imports in.
